Still no camera :-( - Fave five Christmas cards 2010

Good morning everyone, if you see me mention lending out my camera again do me a favour and give me a slap please...I still don't have it back but a promise it will be here before lunch so fingers crossed and if it doesn't arrive listen for the screams because there will be blood (just kidding lol), theres still no water for either my Daughter or my Dad yet and hopefully mine will stay on all day but I have filled a few pans and bottles just in case...anyway instead of the card I wanted to show you I am joining in with the fabulous Fave Five Christmas cards candy...what you have to do is pick five of your own Christmas cards that are your favourites, all the details are here...I found this quite hard to do as I am rarely 100% happy with anything I make and always think I could have done better, although theres a few on this front page I like but it seemed daft to post them when you can scroll down didnt it....well these are the five I finished up with, I hope you agree and fingers and toes crossed I will be posting my Colour Create card tomorrow...have a fantastic day and hop on over to Debby's and join in with her candy for your five faves too

a little touch of glittery spring - Lili Of the Valley challenge 77 - sketch by Dena

Good morning everyone how are you all...there seems to be a lot of flues and colds about at the min so I hope your not suffering, I had to start the dreaded supermarket shopping yesterday and even though it was -7 and deep snow the supermarket was packed, I felt like standing in the middle of the shop and shouting its only closed for two days you know as everyone seemed to be buying whatever they could grab, they made my shopping trolley look like I was on a diet (as if lol) and I have to go back again is it just me that doesn't see the logic of having things like a Christmas cheese selection that goes out of date on the 23rd December duh lol...my card for today is a little breath of sparkly spring for a change from Christmas cards and it gave me the perfect excuse to use these stunning papers from Kaisercraft at Bunny Zoe's Crafts these are from the Candy Lane paper pad and the flowers are some from of the same papers, love these fizzy colours they remind me of sweets...I teamed them up with this fantastically huffy Lili of the Valley Its My Party stamp, shes brilliant isn't she and I want a skirt and tiara like hers...ooohhhh and the green boots of course love em...all I needed to finish is some gorgeous pink ribbon from my stash...the sketch is by the super talented Dena over at the Lili of the Valley challenge, loved it Dena...have a wonderful shopping free day everyone

Sledding in a Winter Wonderland - Belles and Whistles Advent calendar day 17 - scroll down for my Just Magnolia post

Good morning everyone I have been bursting to tell you all that the fabulous Summer of Belles and Whistles asked me to be a guest for the Belles and Whistles advent, how fantastic is that as you all know I love Belles and Whistles stamps so this meant a lot to me, are you all enjoying the advent I love them and they always remind me of the excitement my Daughter had every morning, we used to instead of the usual advent make her an Advent goody bag with 24 teeny little presents in and she got to dip into it every morning, the gifts were either something sweet to eat or maybe a girly thing like nail varnish or even a silly little joke gift but no matter how small she loved it so much and although shes 26 now we only stopped doing her Advent when she moved out last year (I know I should have stopped years ago but I couldn't resist)...I got to use this stunning Merry Sledding stamp for my card, isn't she so sweet and pretty and shes wonderful to colour, I used Distress inks for my colouring. I really wanted the image to pop off the page and what better way of showing her then to use just white card for the background, the 'snow' is made with linen card and scored to make it 3d, when I have a bit more time I will do a tutorial to show you how this is done I think its called paper sculpting, I used the same method for the star a little bit of twinkling frost and we have a winter wonderland.
Don't forget to hop on over to Belles and Whistles Advent for a chance to win a yummy prize everyone and have a fantastic day and I hope its not as snowy as this where you are it is here and very very cold too, I think a white Christmas is on the cards here

my internet fairy has returned - Sugar Nellie round two card

Good morning everyone, first of all a huge apology for no blogging last night but my internet fairy went on a little trip and I had to change over wires, routers and bits and pieces before she would come back...I prefer to think of my internet as a fairy because if I think about it mechanically or as a little IT person sitting in an office I get hopping mad and the mist forms...anyway shes back now so normal service is resumed....I sat and thought and thought about what I would make for round 2 of the Sugar Nellie competition, then I was talking to my husband on the phone and he said and I quote 'just get on with it and make a card' so thats exactly what I did...I used this fabulous Simply Sassy Pillow talk I bought from Funky Kits, don't you just love that chilled out attitude, coloured her with Distress inks (yes I used the dreaded red ink again) and teamed her with with another of these amazing My Minds Eye Lush papers, this one is called Daisy Paper (flocked), I wish you could feel it as it really is like velvet, I cut and raised some of the flowers and added a cream satin ribbon and bow and a 'gorgeous' zipper tag...I'm not sure it works as she look like shes floating instead of sitting on the flowers like shes meant to be...what do you thing does it work okay...I have all my bits crossed and hopefully can still manage to shop for the gubbins of some chicken soup for my Daughter (shes not sick just loves it) with them crossed...have a wonderfully warm day everyone

Another little Moo cow - Friday Sketchers 132 + Allsorts challenge week 82 + Craft Your Days away Punch it out + Simon says stamp challenge

Good morning everyone how are you all...well and happy I hope, I went with my Dad yesterday to buy him some slippers, they are one of my own personal hates, I think they are yucky and they are not exactly sexy things are they...anyway is this female logic or what, I think if he is willing to spend a fortune on a pair of comfortable shoes that he wears maybe 2-3 hours maximum why on earth would he want a cheap pair of rubbish slippers he wears almost all day...duh...so I managed to persuade him to let me buy him some slumberland (the same people who make the beds) memory foam slippers which I think were still muck cheap at £20, he wouldn't even consider the ones I wanted to buy him Hush Puppies at £65 but at least I managed to get him up from £3.99 lol, so we have more shopping left to do to get him more pressies mind you finding out he wanted slippers was like pulling teeth so haven't a clue what else to buy him...anyway enough waffle Mina onto today's card...how gorgeous is this little Moo cow, this time he has a couple of little friends with him too...this is Nellie Snellen Koetie Child (style7) from Bunny Zoes Crafts, isnt this stamp just fantastically snowy and wintry, I coloured it with Distress inks and teamed it with these stunning papers from the Kaisercraft Candy Lane paper pad , the sentiment shape is from the same pad too...all I needed to add was some punched snowflakes and ribbon...I used the fab Friday Sketchers sketch and I'm entering this for the Craft your days away Punch it challenge, the Simon Says Stamp challenge and Allsorts challenge too...I will be back at about 6pm with my mega candy results including my extra little candy prize too so will speak to you then...have a fab day everyone

Happy fat little birds - The Sugar Bowl challenge 49 + City Crafter challenge week 34 + Pear Tree Designs challenge 29

Good morning everyone I went to bed last night to snow and sleet and woke this morning to sunshine and not a pick of snow for one horrible moment I thought I really had hibernated for a month or two...sneaky stuff this freaky weather isn't it...the fat balls are sorted I went to get the gubbins (technical term for all the ingredients) and saw a pack of 12 for a few pounds, bought them and the birds are as happy as a little fat red breasted bird can be...right onto my card for today which is for The Sugar Bowl, CCCB Let it snow challenge and Pear Tree Designs challenge Winter Wonderland too...I used this fabulously cozy Sugar Nellie Raven stamp, I want a coat and hat like this how warm would it be, I coloured her with my distress inks and paper pieced her hat and coat with some of these amazing Websters Pages Santa and Sweet papers I bought from Crafty Emma's, stunning aren't they, I love the colours in them, I finished my card with some black saddle stitched ribbon and punched snowflakes...what you up to today anything exciting I think we will put our Christmas Tree up when I say we I use that term loosely, what I really mean is Phil sits and watches and I decorate it, although I cant blame him as he used to help but I would just follow behind him and move everything to the 'right' place so he gave up but at least he gets all the stuff out of the attic...whatever your up to have a wonderfully festive day everyone
