Life is sweet...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and your weekend is going great...well Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp showed up on time but I decided to go for coffee with my lovely Phil and Dad instead lol...who can blame me...it was a beautifully sunny 22degrees yesterday and while we were having a wander around a shop something fluorescent pink caught my eye...it was a woman about fifty something with a skin tight and I mean super skin tight Lycra fluorescent pink dress on, super short wandering around totally oblivious to every ones stares and snigger's...seriously woman this is not Ibiza and your not 16 buy yourself a cardigan and cover it up we don't all want to see it...you should have seen Phil and my Dad's open mouthed expressions as she walked past, I couldn't help giggling at them...I totally go with that you should wear what your comfortable in and never mind was anyone else says but really I don't want to be put off the piece of cake I was going to have with my coffee do I lol...Its very hard sometimes when your over 50 to decide what to wear, you don't want to be frumpy and don't want to look like mutton done up as lamb but I can with my hand on my heart say I have never felt the urge to wear a dress like that...honestly...right now onto my card for today, how stunningly adorable is this Mo's Digital Pencil sweetie...she is called Look, Ma! (Girl) and is one of her line drawing digis...I love this range don't you, they are so realistic and have a super soft look to them...I coloured her with my distress inks and matched her with these equally as stunning papers from the Kaisercraft - Needle & Thread 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad...I love the beautiful colours in this, its from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...aren't they very similar to the colours in yesterdays papers even though they are a totally different pad...I cut some of the flowers from more sheets for decoration and the sentiment is a rub on, I won a voucher for Our Mum's Craft Shop a little while ago and bought the Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden Rub Ons with part of it and thought this saying was perfect for this image...I finished with some buttons from the new bags I bought from a local shop...this button thing is rapidly becoming an addiction lol...the fab sketch is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Card Makin Mamas Challenge too...I think it will be a sitting in the garden relaxing kinda day today if the weather stays the same that is...whatever your up to today I hope wherever you are its a sunny one for you too...speak to you all tomorrow

bright and cute to the extreme...

Good morning everyone are you all well?...well I have a new printer sorted, I booked it online to collect  in store but I think the store sorta missed the idea of click and collect, I went in armed with my reservation number and debit card to be met by a young man who looked like he had had a very heavy night before...I gave him my number which he didn't even look at then he asked what have you ordered, a Printer I said, what make, I told him...what model I told him that...do I want to pay cash...yes I said...then realised hang on isn't this called shopping when he went to the shelf to collect it...what was the point in my reserving it when I could have went in picked it up from the shelf and took it to the checkout lol...maybe he was just having an off day as the irony of the situation was totally lost on him bless him lol...anyway I still haven't tried it yet but fingers crossed I will get some time this afternoon and report back...oh and I got a bargain at Sainsburys too...they have a 25% sale on their clothes so I was having a little rummage when I found a pair of black linen trousers I like...no label or price tag and not another pair in sight...so I went to the customer services so managed to find a index number on the care label and punched it in...oh they are on sale she said...£6 would you believe and she then gave me the 25% off for the offer too...so I got a lush pair of linen trousers for the princely sum of £4.50...oooohhhhhh I love a bargain don't you...right now onto my card for today...all together now...aaaaaaaawwwwww how cute is this little bear, look at that adorable little face...its a Crafter's Companion stamp called Crafter's Companion Party Paws - Bamboo's Favourites...I used my usual distress inks for colouring and thought I would go bright and pretty for the papers so used these lush papers from the Echo Park - Here & Now 6x6 Paper Pad for it...I also used a knot made with Organza Ribbon - Lime (25mm Wide) a Prima Flowers Primmers - White Cotton flower and a couple of buttons from the Ice Storm - 25g button pack...everything I used is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from Sketch Saturday Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Artistic Inspirations challenge too...its supermarket day with my Dad today and you all know what that means too don't you...yep 'put the world to rights coffee...quick question does anyone else find planning meals a real pain in the butt...I hate it, if someone would just sort out the ingredients and menu I would gladly do the cooking...its the organising I don't like...have a brilliant day and I hope your menu for this evening is already planned lol

too many questions...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and happy and having a brilliant week...well its official poor Phil has man flu or as we women call it a head cold lol...I text him at work yesterday to see how he was and he took a couple of hours to text back with 'Im too weak to text you'...er...you just did, daft bugger that he is lol...he will be grand with some more hot lemon drinks...it seems that the summer has returned here and my rose bushes have sprung into life again, I wish they would make their minds up...now the question to cut them or not to cut them...I love having them indoors but don't want to stop it blooming...all you super talented gardeners out there should be able to tell me I think...now before I get onto my card for today a quick question for you, are these photos blurred?, I'm not sure if they are blurred or its my eyes or my rapidly ageing laptop...let me know if they look a bit blurry to you please....I have had a lot of questions for you all today haven't I...you must be thinking I only came here to see a card not take a quiz lol...btw brilliant news my Daughters friend is much better and out of intensive care thank goodness my heart sank when I first heard it, all Mothers feel for any family going through something like that don't they..ok no more waffle onto my card for today...don't you just love this sweetheart of a stamp? (oops another question), shes from Sugar Nellie and is from the Diane Duda collection of stamps...this is the stunning Peace Angel coloured with my usual distress inks...she would be just perfect for a Christmas card but I couldn't resist using this amazing paper and cutting to my hearts content from it...these papers are from the beautiful Bo Bunny Gabrielle 6x6 paper pad...I cut butterflies out and lay them over the flat ones but a little off so they I could try to make them look like they were moving, a couple more cut from another sheet from the pad and all I added was some stunning swirls from the Prima Say It In Crystals Mini Swirls - Divine set from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I didn't really use a sketch and just let the papers dictate the layout but am entering it for the C is for Challenge, Crafty Cardmakers Challenge and the Lady Anne's Challenges too...I'm heading to my craft room this morning armed with bin bags and cleaning stuff its desperately in need of a good clean and there's no more putting it off as the floor is covered in double sided tape backing strips...wish me luck I will need it lol...whatever your up to today wherever you are I hope its a lovely warm sunny day for you

its all about the paper...

Good morning everyone how was your weekend?...good I hope...after the happenings of Friday, Saturday wasn't too bad but Sunday wasn't good when a friend of our Daughters was rushed to intensive care and we had to pick her up from the hospital...poor lamb and I'm hoping and wishing he will recover fast, my heart goes out to his family...so its fingers crossed for this week to go ok I think...thank goodness Phil seems a bit better but woke up yesterday with a stinking head cold bless him, maybe that's what the really bad headache's were about, that coming on...he has been told in no uncertain terms to keep it to himself lol...I will have to keep him away from my lovely Dad too the last thing he needs is a chest infection as hes really prone to them and it worries me sick when he gets one...I don't think we were the only ones having a bad weekend though, we called into a local store to get me some hairspray and in the middle of shopping a child let out the most blood curdling scream I have ever heard, it made everyone stop what they were doing and spin around...and why?...no sweets lol...the parents were mortified....right now onto my card for today...yes I have a card to show you and one for tomorrow and one for Wednesday made too...will wonders never cease lol...this little stunner is of course from Mo's Digital Pencil, now who else would draw this so beautifully...shes called Gathering Kindling and I coloured her in monochrome tones using my distress inks...I wanted to give her a sepia photo feel...what do you think did it work?...I found a stack of Christmas pads in my stash, long forgotten and stashed for a rainy day...this paper is from one I bought last Christmas from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and is My Mind's Eye - 6x6 paper pad All is Bright...I have decided to get back to basics for my mojos sake and go with an all about the papers theme...you will see what I mean over the next week or so...I started crafting because of my love of stunning paper pads and want to rekindle that love...this is just one sheet of paper would you believe all the layers are printed on it...beautiful isn't it?...all I added to finish was a strip of vintage lace and a Prima flower from my stash, I think its all that was needed don't you...I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to make the cards I have seen around that have loads of embellishments on them then realised I don't have too I can just make 'my' cards cant I...silly mare that I am lol...there is no sketch as the layers were done for me but I'm entering this for the Our Creative Corner challenge, My Creative Moments Challenge and the Brown Sugar Challenge too...I haven't a clue what I'm up to today but am hoping it doesn't include hospitals, doctors surgeries or anything medical and am keeping my head down just in case lol...whatever your up to today I hope its a safe and well one for you and those you love

a touch of red to ward off the gremlins...

Good morning everyone bbbbbrrrrrr what happened to the weather...its blowing a mini gale here and so much rain that's falling horizontal...autumn has certainly arrived with a vengeance...I woke on Sunday morning to ever rose on my striped rose bush gone...the wind had blown every petal off them, I was gutted...I don't so much mind autumn arriving but please leave my roses alone lol...hows the weather where you are?...did you all have a good weekend, our Sunday lunch was lush but the menu was changed a little as the cream I had bought for the cheesecake has gone off so I changed to a orange kinda thing, a made up one with cream substitute but everyone loved it anyway so it turned out ok...I had one of those days yesterday, you know the sort, everything you touch turns out wrong...our beautiful Daughter is of to Dublin on Wednesday for a business meeting and I booked her the train for her, went to print the receipt and nothing not a thing, my printer wont even switch on...I have changed the fuse but that's about as far my electrical skills go...looks like a new ones needed, I managed to send it to Phil to print at work though, then I went to my craft room and discovered the pile of images I had saved have faded in the light...ok now that's a conspiracy isn't it...a broken printer and no images to colour lol, now my camera is acting up and the photos are turning out rubbish...I'm scared to move today just in case something else breaks or goes wrong...luckily I had this beautiful stamp to use today...its from Bildmalarna and is called JustMe Nr.6...shes a real beauty isnt she...I coloured her with my distress inks as you can see my colouring mojo is still a bit shaky and the colouring isn't the best I have ever done...the lush paper pad I used is the Teresa Collins 6x6" Paper Pad - Stationary Noted and all the sentiments and flowers I cut from the same pad, I love the blue and red colour combo in it dont you, unusual but it works so well...I finished with a scattering of pearls...everything I used except the pearls are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I made the sketch up as I went along but am entering my card for the Ladybug Crafts Challenge, Stamping Sensations Challenge and the Sister Act Card Challenge too...I'm off to put my head under a blanket and wait for the next breakage lol...whatever your up to today have a great one

at long long last...

Good morning everyone yes your eyes don't deceive you I have a card to show...about bloody time too I hear you yell lol...well you all having a good weekend then and did any of you try my recipe,,,if any of you did I would to know if you enjoyed it...we had a lovely day yesterday doing nothing special but its so rare we get a Saturday alone we really enjoyed mooching around shops, buying the food for lunch today and wandering around the new clothes in the shops (though we didn't buy any)...lovely day all round...and I even managed to find a teeny bit of mojo creeping in too...all that was needed was one of Mo's Digital Pencil images to give it a little shove, I'm not sure its back yet as I struggled to get it done but its peeping over the wall lol...this is the gorgeous First Day Faye, isn't she so so cute and shes perfect for any little girls first day at new school don't you think...I coloured her with my distress inks and teamed her up with these lush papers from the Prima 6x6 Tea Thyme paper pad I bought ages and ages ago from Bunny Zoe's Crafts but I don't think its in stock anymore...I really like the contrast of that black paper and it looks a bit like a blackboard doesn't it...I finished with some lush rick cream satin ribbon, a bow, a button and a key charm (would you believe I found a whole bag of different charms stuck in the back of a drawer, I really need a proper clear out don't I lol...the fab sketch is from the Everybody Art Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Paper Crafting Journey Challenge and the The Hobby House Challenge too...we are having the whole gang around for lunch today and roast beef with all the trimmings are on the menu followed by my homemade cheesecake...I love family Sunday lunches don't you...I went into the kitchen last night and Phil had done all the prep for lunch, he's certainly a keeper isn't he...I'm off to see if I can do some colouring before I need to start cooking...whatever your up to today I hope its a brilliant day for you and your family

time for something different...

Good morning everyone...nope still no mojo...you know your in trouble when you are met at your craft room door by a cobweb don't you lol...I have a load of things to print today so I will give it another try, I sat yesterday gazing at two images on my desk and nothing at all...so in the meantime a friend of mine asked ages ago for this recipe as its super fast and so so easy...and of course delicious...its my super fast seafood pasta so I hope you dont mind me posting this instead of a card

ok now recipe
this is for two people with leftovers enough for a lunch for Phil
8 nice firm ripe tomatoes
tomato puree or paste
small pack of prawns or whatever seafood you like
this would work well with fish too but pick a firmish
one so it doesn't break up too much or if your
on a store cupboard day use a tin of drained tuna
4 shallots (I prefer shallots they have a gentler sweeter flavour)
garlic cloves (as many as takes your fancy we like garlic so use four)

peel and deseed your tomato's, if you don't know how and I know you probably do but just in case...cut a cross into the bottom of each tomato and place them in a large bowl cover in bowling water (I use kettle boiled) and drain after about 15-20 seconds, don't leave them longer as they will semi cook and fall to bits when you peel them...cut in half cut out the core then I use a spoon to scoop out the seed part, I also wear rubber gloves as I hate the red under my nails it stays there forever lol...when they are peeled and deseeded dice them and put aside...chop your shallots very small and your garlic...in a large frying pan add a good glug of olive oil and a large chunk of butter...the butter is for flavour and the olive oil to stop the butter burning...add the shallots and garlic and seat them off on a low/medium heat...don't fry or colour them as garlic when it fries can taste a little bitter and will taint your seafood...after five mins sweating them off they should go transparent...add your tomato's and give them a stir together while they cook together...add salt to taste and a large pinch of sugar (I know that sounds odd but it brings out the flavour of the tomato's...add a good squeeze of tomato paste
it should look something like this below

cook together on medium heat stirring so it doesn't catch now and again for another five minuets, taste now and add whatever you think or not its up to you...add your seafood and cook together for about five minuets more...while your making this cook your pasta and garlic bread

it will look like this when served, I always add Parmesan as I cant resist but a bit of chopped parsley or basil is lush too

add a man you love and a glass of wine and enjoy...this is not from any recipe book as I made it up with leftovers one day so I don't have measurements...I hope its easy to understand...wish me luck with finding my mojo today and whatever your up to I hope its an exciting fun day for you and those you love

sleeping beauties...

Good morning everyone hows your week going, I hope your all well and having a good one...as promised here's a photo of some of the roses on our kitchen table from the garden, we also have a fantastic rose that is deep pink and white stripes...its stunning and I will sow you a photo of those later at the weekend...are you all ready now...ready for some holiday photos?...I bet you cant contain your excitement lol

how amazingly beautiful is the cottage we rented, although I'm not quite sure about the colour its a bit orange don't you think...but the front garden was very pretty

this is just a small part of the garden...it was huge and my poor Dad didn't get to go all around it because he was finding it hard to walk in the gravel and it was impossible to push the wheelchair round...the first morning off I pop around the garden in my pj's armed with a cuppa for a little explore never realising that there was a house at the other end of it...I met a lovely elderly American couple walking their dog lol...we had a good natter if fact I was gone so long my Dad came looking for me

I couldn't resist showing you this amazing Celtic cross, I took this on the day we went to the Irish national Heritage park which showed Ireland's buildings and way of life all through the ages...brilliant day but being built on a mini mountain totally exhausting...

as you can tell by this photo...my two lovely sleeping beauties and our adopted dog Spot...I thought it was a bit random a dog statue don't you...all they needed was a bit of sun, a cuppa and a couple of cushions and they were out like a light bless them lol...hope I didn't bore you too much and you wanna see some more I have 67 of them so ask away...well I really must craft today (nope I still haven't) the old mojo is being a bit elusive atm but I'm sure it will pop back soon, well I hope it does and I have a card to show you tomorrow...whatever your up to today I hope you don't have the miserable rainy weather we have and have a good one

where has all the light gone...

Good morning everyone hows your week going, its chilly now isn't it there a definite smell of Autumn about and before you know it the fire will have to be lit 'sigh'...with the Autumnal weather the light has changed too don't you think, it far more wishy washy (that's a technical weather term lol)...plus it doesn't show dust as much negative its harder to take your photos, although our garden is still blooming and I don't have enough vases for all the stunning roses which reminds me I must take some photos of them before they are all gone...I had a relaxing day yesterday but didn't get any crafting done at all so will have to head into the craft room today, its a real mess too and needs a proper clean up and declutter I think...I have a bin you know but never seem to use it and always have an ever growing pile of tape backing, if only there was something we could make with the backing strips, I will have to have a think about that, all suggestions gratefully accepted of course lol...right now onto my card for today and its another of the super stunning new Winter Wonder release from Sugar Nellie...this is the gorgeously pretty Elf Made Magic coloured with my distress inks and glittered, well glittered in fact lol, with a few pearls added to her outfit...the amazingly lush papers are in fact from a Baby paper pad, it just goes to show you don't have to use Christmas papers for a Christmas card do you...they are from the Kaisercraft - Bundle of Joy 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad...I added a bow made with beautiful Organza Ribbon - Dusky Pink (25mm Wide) and cut out a couple of holly leaves from the check papers and added some pearls for berries...I like this colour combo for Christmas don't you?...the paper pad and ribbon I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from the Just Us Girls Challenge and I'm also entering it for the One Stitch at a Time Challenge and the Totally Gorjuss Challenge too...I'm off for a coffee and a ponder over getting enough energy together to start tidying my craft room...or not lol...whatever your up to today have a gorgeously sunny warm one

Good morning everyone and yes I finally made it...well the internet started working ok about 8ish last night but I think it wasn't a good idea posting at that time so you will have to wait a bit longer for the holiday photos...are you gutted?, yeah right lol...well my MRI scan was 100% worse than I thought it would be, considering I feel uncomfortable in a lift I should have maybe ticked the box on the safety form that said 'do you suffer from claustrophobia' but I don't really I just don't like closed spaces or is that the same thing do you think...I am shall we say a bit ample on the chest department and when I lie down its the part of me that is the highest so they were touching the top of the machine and as soon as I got inside my breathing went funny but with the help of some advice from the nurse I controlled it and managed the 30 minuets inside without screaming my head off, which could easily of happened, mind I was shaking like a leaf when I got out, I could hardly hold the water they gave me, that really isn't made for people of my proportions lol...I really wouldn't want to do that anymore than once in my life thank you very much...Phil's face when I walked out was priceless though lol, he took one look at me and said 'omg are you ok'...I'm fine though and its over so just have to wait for the results now...I will report back...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts monthly challenge...this month was our lovely Tracy's choice and she chose Something Blue...I chose to use this stunning Whiff Of Joy Girls Rule (A480) stamp for my card..she has the most amazing hair and its a joy to colour...I used my usual distress inks for colouring and teamed her up with this stunning double sided Magnolia Blue Vintage Hydrangea 12" x 12" Paper...lush isn't it and perfect for the challenge...I added a fab bow made from some Organza Ribbon - White (25mm Wide) and some beautiful swirls from the Prima Say It In Crystals Mini Swirls - Divine set...everything I used today is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from the Sweet Stop Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge and the Paper Creator's Challenge too...I'm going to have a relaxing crafting day today and catch up on our holiday washing I think, well I cant avoid it forever can I...whatever your up to today have fun and if you get a chance pop on over to the Bunny Zoe's Crafts blog and take a peek at the rest of our fab teams makes...oh and btw we will be starting a new Guest DT call on Wednesday so I hope you will all go for it...bye for now

Good morning everyone...I'm back, did you miss me? anyone? lol...we had a lovely time and wow the weather was amazing too...it never dropped below 20c and in September too, isn't that fantastic...the weather must have been about the same at home too as we came back to three dead hanging baskets and all my poor roses drooped over and so dry the soil had shrunk away from the pots...I will load some photos tomorrow of the amazing thatched cottage complete with beams in the attic bedrooms and the even more amazing gardens at the back of it...my Dad had a lovely time too but hes shattered I think we wore him out, we wanted him to have a good time so went to loads of fantastic places, but I'm not sure if my interpretation of wheelchair accessible is the same as some places you know...deep gravel or rocks do not a wheelchair path make as we found out a few times, which meant my poor Dad had to get out and walk which is not really fun for him when your half way round somewhere bless him and the terrible journey home which took two hours longer than it should have thanks to every tractor available being in front of us lol...so I think he will need a few days rest the poor man, but hes off to my Sisters on Sunday for a week so he will have some rest time there I hope...did anything exciting happen while I was away then?, go on spill the beans I'm busting to know...oh and I haven't forgotten about the prize winner for the last Bunny Zoe's Crafts candy I will be back this evening with the winners name...right now onto my card for today...look at that adorable face now who else could draw that but Mo...this is the stunning Fan's Cricket from Mo's Digital Pencil, I coloured her with distress inks and paper pieced her outfit with the same papers I used for the card...they are from the beautiful Kaisercraft - Miss Empire 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...lush aren't they, in fact so lush I only had to add a thin chocolate brown ribbon to finish my card...the circle and corner piece I cut from the same pad...I made the sketch up as I went along as I haven't caught up with the sketch challenges yet but Im entering it for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Sister Act Card Challenge and the Creative Corner Challenge too...right I'm off to get ready to go for my MRI this morning so better get the war paint on and head off...whatever your up to today I hope its more fun than we will be having in the hospital for hours, I really don't like hospitals do you? they give me the chills and I hate the smells but they aren't there for pleasure are they, just to help when you need it...have a good one everyone

Good morning everyone...did you all enjoy yesterday hope then...well we are off on our break and I'm sure the car was just as full as usual...including my Dad with his little goody bag Phil got for him with his bar of fruit and nut chocolate, pillow, blanket and his newspaper to keep him comfortable and busy while we are driving lol...I thought I would post this Christmas card today as the Sugar Nellie one was the first of many to come I'm sure...this stamp is a new High Hopes stamp called Motorin' By Santa...isn't it a cutie and if I have to start making Christmas cards this is a fab stamp to use don't you think...the sentiment is another high hopes stamp too called Coming to Town (sentiment)...I coloured Santa and his fab bike with distress inks and teamed him up with these gorgeous papers and sentiment tag from the Teresa Collins 6x6" Paper Pad - Far & Away...although the papers aren't for Christmas I think they work really well for him don't you...I finished with a knotted red bow...everything except the ribbon are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I'm going to give myself a complete break until Saturday to see if I can give my mojo a rest and hopefully reboot it...so its out with the two precious men in my life and restaurants, museums and gardens galore and lots of inspiration I hope...whatever your doing this week I hope you have fantastic fun and I will draw my candy winner as soon as I get back...I will update you all and have a chat on Saturday
